An der Hauptstraße in Wiedemar bei Leipzig – Schkeuditz befindet sich der auf den ersten Blick sehr kleine Bio-Hof Felgner. Den Familienbetrieb hat Henri Felgner 2015 von den Eltern übernommen. Seit 2003 wird hier bereits ökologisch gewirtschaftet. Um den Hof herum befinden sich 0,5 ha Gründüngung, Gemüse, ein paar Schafen und zwei Zebus – auch „Buckelrinder“ genannt. 1 ha mit verschiedensten Kartoffelsorten, sowie 124 (!) ha Ackerbauflächen sind etwas weiter vom Betrieb entfernt. 124 ha sind wirklich viel für einen Biobetrieb! Auf diesen baut Herr Felgner als ausgebildeter Landwirtschaftsmeister, Getreide und Ackerbohnen an. Natürlich auch alles ökologisch und nach Bioland – Richtlinien zertifiziert.
Im Gespräch mit ihm wurde deutlich: Im Verhältnis zum Ackerbau macht das Gemüse die meiste Arbeit – obwohl hiervon nur 0,5 ha angebaut werden. Zum besseren Verständnis für die Konsumentinnen: Dies erklärt auch die preislichen Unterschiede zwischen einem Kilogramm Getreide und beispielsweise einem Kilogramm Tomaten. In einem Kilogramm Tomaten stecken von der Pflanzung bis zur Ernte einfach viel, viel mehr händische Arbeitsstunden als in einem Kilogramm Getreide. Das alles stemmen Herr Felgner, seine Frau und seine Tochter gerade gemeinsam ohne zusätzliche Arbeitskräfte. Letztes Jahr hatte Herr Felgner lange nach einer ausgebildeten Gärtnerin oder einem Gärtner für den Betrieb gesucht. Da die Suche vergeblich war erfolgt nun wahrscheinlich eine Umstrukturierung des Betriebes und eine stärkere Spezialisierung auf insgesamt weniger Kulturen.
Vermarktet wird momentan über die Ökokiste Leipzig und verschiedene so genannte „Food – Coops“ in Halle. Food – Coops sind Verbraucher-Initiativen, welche Räume mieten wo sich die Mitglieder der Food-Coops dann zu bestimmten Zeiten versch. ökologische und lokale Produkte abholen können. Im Unterschied zu einem Laden erfolgt die Bezahlung per Rechnung und wird Online organisiert. Vor Ort selbst sind keine VerkäuferInnen anwesend. Die Abholung erfolgt nach dem Vertrauensprinzip. Es werden so Kosten für das Betreiben eines vollständigen Ladens gespart und für die ErzeugerInnen bleibt so, über den direkten Weg der Abnahme finanziell etwas mehr hängen.
Henri Felgner fährt für die Food Coops wöchentlich nach Halle. Für die Ökokiste ernten seine Frau und er zudem immer schon Sonntags Nachmittags und Montags früh – damit Kohlrabi, verschiedenste Salatsorten und anderes Gemüse ebenfalls so frisch wie möglich bei den KundInnen der Ökokiste ankommt. Noch etwas ganz Besonderes zum Schluss: Das Gemüse wird auf extrem gutem Boden mit 90 – 100 Bodenpunkten angebaut. Mittels Bodenpunkten wird im deutschsprachigen Raum die Qualität des Bodens beschrieben. 102 Bodenpunkte besitzt der Boden mit der deutschlandweit höchsten Bodenpunktzahl. Die meisten Böden um Leipzig herum haben Bodenpunkte von 40 bis vlt. maximal 60. Daher sind 90 bis 100 Bodenpunkte wirklich etwas ganz besonderes & dies wirkt sehr wahrscheinlich auch auf den Geschmack des Gemüses aus.
Ziel ist es die lokale, gemeinschaftliche Grundversorgung, ökologisches Bewusstsein und die Partizipation an Produktionsprozessen zu fördern und somit langfristig in der Region Delitzscher Land zu verwurzeln.
